Surfaces 2008

So I finally had a chance to visit Surfaces this year which is the world's largest flooring conference and is held annually in Las Vegas. All I can say is WOW. The show is huge and very impressive. I saw every kind of flooring imaginable as well as many wall covering products. There was recycled glass tiles that were very impressive. There also was rug and wood flooring exhibits as far as the eye could see it seemed. Some of the floor booths were many hundreds if not thousands of square feet and the cost of some of them had to be well over six figures. The rubber flooring options were also extensive. Their were also many mat and tile manufacturers there that had some interesting new products with bold new color schemes. I even saw some new entrance mats and anti fatigue mat styles even though that product tends to be bland as they are usually focused on function rather than fashion. If you have the time and the money, Surfaces is a must see for every flooring professional.

Oh yeah, there were a lot of beautiful women there as well. Who knew flooring could bring out so many beautiful ladies. I always thought the industry was made of us overweight men selling and installing the stuff.
