I was recently asked a couple of common questions I frequently here about recycled rubber flooring so I thought I would share my answers. The first Question I received was how should a residential / home user of recycled rubber flooring clean their flooring? My Answer was as follows:
Most of our customers have found that our rubber flooring is very easy to clean. What we recommend is to vacuum it occasionally to remove loose impediments and then just to damp mop it with a mild soap and water solution when you see fit. Some customers occasionally want to disinfect it as well and what works well for that is to damp mop the flooring with an alcohol and water solution. The only thing that cannot be used on the flooring for cleaning are solvent based cleaners like Pinesol, Lysol, or any oil based product like WD-40 as they will slowly break down the flooring over time.
The second question I received was what is a linear foot which I answered like:
A linear foot of rolled rubber flooring is a unit of measure that is meant to measure how long a roll length is. The rolled rubber flooring we sell is typically a four foot wide roll. So say you have a roll of flooring that is twenty feet long by four feet wide. The linear foot measurement of the roll is twenty feet. Each linear foot is four feet wide so the total square foot coverage of the roll is 20 linear feet x 4 feet wide which = 80 square feet.
As I hear more common questions about recycled rubber flooring, I will be sure to post them with answers. Have a great weekend.
