Rolled Rubber Flooring Tidbits

I was recently asked a couple of common questions I frequently here about recycled rubber flooring so I thought I would share my answers. The first Question I received was how should a residential / home user of recycled rubber flooring clean their flooring? My Answer was as follows:

Most of our customers have found that our rubber flooring is very easy to clean. What we recommend is to vacuum it occasionally to remove loose impediments and then just to damp mop it with a mild soap and water solution when you see fit. Some customers occasionally want to disinfect it as well and what works well for that is to damp mop the flooring with an alcohol and water solution. The only thing that cannot be used on the flooring for cleaning are solvent based cleaners like Pinesol, Lysol, or any oil based product like WD-40 as they will slowly break down the flooring over time.

The second question I received was what is a linear foot which I answered like:

A linear foot of rolled rubber flooring is a unit of measure that is meant to measure how long a roll length is. The rolled rubber flooring we sell is typically a four foot wide roll. So say you have a roll of flooring that is twenty feet long by four feet wide. The linear foot measurement of the roll is twenty feet. Each linear foot is four feet wide so the total square foot coverage of the roll is 20 linear feet x 4 feet wide which = 80 square feet.

As I hear more common questions about recycled rubber flooring, I will be sure to post them with answers. Have a great weekend.

Welcome to my new blog

So to all of you who know me from my other blog, I have decided to start anew since Google does not seem to want to show that blog any love. If my other rubber flooring blog does get indexed, I will combine them and give up one but for now, I need to play around with this one to see if I can't get any Google love. Either way, I will continue to write about rubber flooring but I also plan on writing about rubber floor mats, entrance mats, anti fatigue mats, and kitchen mats as well. I am new to the mat side of the world but have recently started offering those at our website so I plan on learning all I can about them in short order.

Now before I continue, I realize many of you visitors might be thinking, why blog about rubber gym flooring for use in weight rooms and why blog about mats? Well First of all I sell them so it makes sense to me and it offers me a spot on the web to write down my thoughts and experiences while selling these products so that I can go back and look up how I dealt with certain circumstances that arose. I am also blogging about them because frankly there is just not a lot of info on the net about these kinds of products. Last but not least, I believe these products are not thought of much as beneficial to the environment but indeed they are. The rubber flooring I write about most is recycled from used rubber tires. This helps reduce the amount of tires in landfills. The mats I plan on writing about are often used for "green cleaning" which is a little used term that I plan on writing about more extensively in future posts.

Thank you for reading. Welcome and enjoy.
